First opened in 2021, THE BRANCH is owned and operated by Brecken and Joanne Curtis. The inspiration for the design and fit out of this venue was to align with the original construction of the building in the early 1930’s, when the building was purposefully built as a bank branch for the ‘Commercial Bank of Australia’. The original safe is still located in the café near the coffee machine. Over the years this grand building has been utilized for various purposes including a stock and station agency, dentist clinic, department of transport and retail shops.

Throughout 2021, the entire building underwent an extensive renovation. An essential part of the design brief was to bring a little bit of city charm to the bush and to incorporate the grand Poinciana tree located in the courtyard into the design of the venue.

Head Chef Nevashin Naidu (Chef V), prides himself on delivering quality cuisine in Western Queensland, using as much locally produced and grown ingredients to create quality dishes for you to enjoy.

  • This cafe was by far the best since we left darwin on the way to Hervey Bay! It is very aesthetic, absolutely delicious sausage roles, would 100% recommend them to anyone. Pies are also delicious and very yum coffee! If anyone is looking for somewhere you won’t be disappointed one bit, this is the place!!

  • Recently held my baby shower in the courtyard and had a fabulous time. Staff were extremely accommodating to the guests and provided us with ample time to set up for the event. The food and drinks were fabulous too.
